Symphyotrichum (Aster) chilense 'Purple Haze'
An extremely tough perennial that is a member to the Asteraceae (Sunflower) family. It grows fast up to two feet tall and wide- it spreads vigorously by rhizomes. The lavender flowers bloom in summer and fall. This plant does well in containers. Prune plant to ground after it blooms.
