Refund policy

 

Plant Returns and Exchanges

 

When placing an online order for pickup, if any plant on your order is unavailable you will be automatically refunded or contacted with alternative options. When picking up the plants in-person, if you are unsatisfied with any or all of your order, we can refund or exchange items in the order. Once your items have left the the shop we do not offer
returns or refunds. If a plant dies, we will be available to help determine or discuss why it died, in order to assist in avoiding the same result in the future. If through this process we determine that the mistake was ours, we will offer to refund the purchase or exchange your plant.

Online Returns

We want you to love the goods we sell at Plant Material. We offer returns within 30 days of the date your online order was delivered. Orders placed during the holiday season (between October 1st and December 31st) are eligible for return through January 31st of the following year.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Additional non-returnable items:

- Communitie Marfa Hats

- Gift cards

- Some health and personal care items

- Plants that have been planted in the ground

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable) Those are any items not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Refunds do not include any shipping costs paid on your original order, if applicable.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We will replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at online@plant-material.com and send your item to: Plant Material, 3350 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90065, United States.

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Shipping

You are responsible for the cost to ship the returned items unless it is otherwise noted by Plant Material. 

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Returning Items Purchased in Store

All returns and exchanges must be accompanied by proof of purchase and completed within 30 days of purchase. 

A refund will only be issued for saleable product in the same manner it was purchased. 

Dead or non-saleable plant material cannot be exchanged or refunded. Plants not properly watered will not be exchanged.

An exchange, store credit, or merchandise return will be issued only for the amount paid at the time of original purchase. Cash refunds over $50 will be issued by check.

HOLDS and NO SHOWS

If discussed and approved by the Store Manager, sometimes we can hold an item for you. We will hold the requested and mutually approved items for a maximum of 24 hrs. After that the item will go back in stock for sale.

Items purchase on the web for pick up will be held until picked up. Please contact Plant Material to cancel the order if you do not plan to pick it up so we can issue a refund (less the restocking fee) and restock the items.  We will follow up with no shows (someone who places an order for pick up and never collects) for one week.  If we do not hear from orderee the order will be refunded (less the restocking fee) and will be put back into stock.  All cancelled orders will be charged a 20% restocking fee.
