The leaves grow  up to three feet long and up to 1 inch wide.  When grown in low light the color of the leaves is almost black.  Feed every month throughout the summer with a general purpose fertilizer that is diluted to one half the strength suggested on the container.   This plant has air cleaning capabilities by removing formaldehyde, xylene and trichloroethylene from the air.  This plant can be mildly toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.
