Fremontodendron 'Pacific Sunset' (flannel bush)

Pacific Sunset

The flannel bush is a hybrid between F. californica ssp. decumbens and 'Californica Glory'.   This fast growing bush grows up to twenty tall and twenty feet wide.  The leaves have a leathery and fuzzy texture reminiscent of flannel, and the yellow and orange flowers are large and showy.  It has large orange-yellow cup-shaped flowers for a long period in spring.

Plant in full sun

- Best if not watered once established

- Drought tolerant

- Attracts bees, birds, and butterflies

- Hardy up to 20 degrees

- Native to California
