Ceanothus g.h.'Yankee Point'
This shrub grows up to four feet tall and eight feet wide. It is a weed-smothering, fast growing ground cover. Yankee Point has powder blue flowers that bloom winter through spring. It is tolerant of hot interior locations as long as some shade and irrigation are provided. Thrives in rocky, salt-laden coastal settings, yet adapts well to garden settings and grows well inland with dappled sun to part shade. Ceanothus are great additions to the habitat garden offering food and cover for birds and nectar for bees and butterflies. This shrub was originally found at Yankee Point in Monterey County.
