California Brickell Bush

A California Native in the sunflower family that can reach a height of up to seven feet tall and wide.  Some say that this is the best smelling native plant in the summer when the yellow flowers are in bloom, it is super fragrant.  The triangular serrated leaves are hairy.

Plant with: Manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.), Ceanothus sp.Gooseberry (Ribes sp.), Matilija Poppy (Romneya coulteri), Flannelbush (Fremontodendron sp.), or trees such as oaks (Quercus sp.) or Pines (Pinus sp.)

- Full sun to part shade

- Best in sandy or clay soil

- Attracts butterflies

- Hardy up to -15

- Native to California
