An Australian native that can reach a height of twelve feet and ten feet wide. Large red orange flowers bloom in the fall through winter.  This banksia is commonly found in the Blue Mountains of West Sydney where rainfall averages 35" per year.  Banksia wood is used by wood turners to make wood bowls.
