A semi evergreen perennial that has clumps of large, shiny green leaves. Tall spikes of tubular white flowers with purplish bracts that appear above the foliage in late spring through summer. The roots spread underground through runners. The Acanthus mollis will grow to be about four feet high and three feet wide.
