Woodwardia fimbriata (giant chain fern)

This is the largest American fern that grows up to six feet high and wide.  In late winter cut back to the ground before the new fiddleheads begin to emerge.   It is summer semi deciduous.  This plant produces a pollen that can produce an allergic reaction.

- Plant in full to part shade

- Allow soil to dry out a little between waterings

- Keep soil moist but not soggy

- Great companion plant under evergreen oaks

- Deer resistant
