Alkali Sacaton

A California Native grass that grows in Southern and Central California in the coast, foothills, and in desert mountains.  It can reach a heigh of up to four feet high and two feet wide.  It grows fast in the summer.  Yellow flowers bloom in the summer.    This plant produces a pollen that can produce an allergic reaction.

Plant with: Saltbush (Atriplex sp.), Apache Plume (Fallugia paradoxa), Rush (Juncus sp.), Evening PrimRose (Oenothera elata), and Antelope Bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata)
