Southern California Black Walnut
An endangered large tree that grows up to 75 feet tall and wide. It can be grown as a single or multi trucked tree. Yellow flowers bloom in the spring. It goes deciduous in the winter. Do not plant other species too close because the toxins in the walnut seeds will prevent other plants from growing near this tree.
It is best to prune this tree in the winter. Some trees have basal burls that will allow the plant to resprout after a fire.
