Sow seeds by hand.  Scatter the seeds and lightly rake after the seeds have been scattered.  You can also mix the seeds with sand and scatter the seeds.  Keep the soil moist after scattering seeds.

Seeds will germinate in 10-14 days under temperatures ranging between 68-86 degrees, it will take longer to establish seeds under cooler temperatures.  Sow seeds in the early spring. 

California poppies bloom throughout summer and can reach heights of two feet.  Pinch blooms from their stems as they begin to fade to encourage new blooms to form.
