Trailing Sagebrush

Artemisia californica is a low spreader with silver green foliage and white flowers.  It grows up to one foot high and four feet wide.  This plant grows best if mowed every three to five years.  This plant will flow over walls well and is great with boulders such as serpentine or red-black lava for contrast.   This plant produces a pollen that can produce an allergic reaction.


Plant with:  Black Sage, White Sage, California Encelia, Chamise, Coyote BrushCalifornia Buckwheat, Sticky Monkeyflower, Woolly Bluecurls, Scrub Oaks, Toyon, Lemonadeberry, Yucca spp, various cactus species
