Scientific Name: Carex spissa

Common Name: San Diego Sedge

A fast growing California Native grass that likes to grow in wet areas.  It can reach a height of up to four feet tall and wide.  The flower spikes are a red brown color.

Plant with: Seep Monkeyflower, Cardinal Monkeyflower, Yerba Mansa, Hedge Nettle, and Juncus spp

- Best in full sun

- Water once a week max once established

- Attracts butterflies

- Deer resistant

- Hardy up to -10

- Native to California
