A weed smothering ground cover that grows up to four fee high and spreads up to three feet. Bluish purple flowers bloom May through June. Medicinally used as salves and herbal drinks. Comfrey is easy to propagate and the roots are very deep, fragments of root left in the soil can produce new plants.

- Best in well drained sandy, loamy and clay soils and can grow in heavy clay soil.
