Rock Penstemon, Rock Beardtongue, Cut-leaf Penstemon, Cut-leaf Beardtongue, Baccharis-leaf Penstemon, Baccharis-leaf Beardtongue

A fast growing perennial that grows up to two feet tall and three feet wide.  Red purple tubular flower clusters bloom in the summer through fall.  

Plant with: Sagebrush (Artemisia californica), San Diego Viguiera (Bahiopsis laciniata), California Encelia (Encelia californica), Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum), Manzanita species, Scrub Oaks, and various annuals such as California Poppy.

Plant in full sun to part shade

- Best in well drained rocky, loamy, or clay soil

- Drought tolerant

- Deer resistant

- Attracts birds, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds

- Hardy up to 0 degrees

- Native to Texas
