A slow growing succulent that can reach twenty feet. It has very sharp spines on its trunk. The trunk becomes swollen over time, the botanical name means thick foot. White flowers bloom in the summer. Cold can damage the Madagascar Palm and the plant will get rot- the ends of the branches will look withered, soft and mushy. The damaged branches can be pruned back.
