Elephant Ears

A tropical plant that grows up to five feet tall and wide.  The leaves are waxy green with brown on the underside.  The leaves are toxic to humans and animals.  Fertilize once a month during spring and summer, growing season.  Alocasias go dormant in winter and the leaves drop.  Alsocasias are susceptible to spider mites, check the plant periodically.

- Plant in bright indirect light

- Best in well-drained soil, potting mix or crumbly loam

- Allow the top two to three inches of soil to dry between watering. During the winter they go through a dormancy period and requires less frequent waterings.

- Native to Asia
