Organic Scarlet Nantes Carrot

Originating in the area around the city of Nantes, France this classic heirloom continues to please.  The fine grained, juicy, bright red-orange flesh has nearly no core.  Blunt ended cylindrical roots reach 7" long.   Great harvested young as baby carrots.  These widely adapted roots are great for fresh eating, juicing, freezing, canning and a standard cooking carrot for soups, stews, roasting, sautéing and steaming.

Growing Tips:

Wet soil before planting. Mix seeds with coffee grounds for better seed distribution. While seeds are germinating, keep soil evenly moist. Apply mulch once established. Thin to strongest plant and re-sow to fill in gaps. Prefers cool, moist soil.

Should be directly seeded directly into the soil. They do not want their roots disrupted and want to be able to send them down as soon as they are planted.
