Festuca californica 'Serpentine Blue'
A perennial grass that is best used as a specimen plant or massed as a ground cover. It grows up to three feet high and wide. The loose clumps of blue-green to blue-grey foliage are topped in late spring by flower spikes emerging green, ageing to purple and maturing to deep yellow. This is a great grass to plant under oaks. This plant produces a pollen that can produce an allergic reaction.
