Acacia aphylla, Live Wire 

A South Australian native shrub that is leafless and spiny.  The stems are blue-ish green.  It can that grow up to eight feet tall.  Yellow fragrant flowers emerge in late fall to early spring.  The name Acacia comes either from the Greek word 'akazo' meaning "to sharpen" or from the Egyptian word 'akakia', a name given to the Egyptian Thorn, Acacia arabica.  Plant parts are mildly toxic if ingested!
