Red Flowering Currant

A California native shrub that reaches a height of thirteen feet tall by seven feet wide.  The dark bark is brown gray with green leaves.  Fragrant pink flowers bloom in the spring through winter.  Purple fruit is edible and the birds really enjoy them.  Deciduous in winter.   It is best to prune after flowering, the plant can be pruned at any time during the year as well.
