Madagascar Palm

The Madagascar Palm grows quickly and can reach three feet high in a few years.  It can reach a height of twenty feet once matured.  The stem can hold water as it begins to grow and thicken.  The long green leaves can reach up to 15" long.  This tree is not a cactus or a palm tree even though it is named a palm.  It is a succulent plant that has a spiny barrel stem.  Pachypodium means thick foot.
