Japanese Indigo, Persicaria tinctoria Seed Pack

Persicaria tinctoria is a member of the buckwheat family.  These plants can grow up to three feet tall and wide.  Small pink and white flowers.

It is recommended that you use ten plants per vat.  Leaves can be harvested multiple times in one season.  The leaves are mature and ready for harvest after 60 days.  These plants will need extra nitrogen throughout their growing season to produce strong, bushy plants.  

You can dye with fresh leaves or dry them and save them for later

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost.  You can also soak the seeds in cool water for up to 24 hours prior to sowing.  

- Full sun in cooler areas and part shade in warmer areas.  

- Water well once a week

This is packaged in a compostable bag - vegan, non-GMO, and are not made with corn-based PLA. They do not contain harmful chemicals such as bisphenol (including BPA and over a dozen other derivatives), PFAS, or phthalates.  These bags can be composted in your home compost bin.
