WARNING - do not plant in garden--invasive!

Sometimes considered a nuisance by gardeners because of its fast, carpeting growth, Pilea nummulariifolia is an all around, very popular, and easy to care for vining plant.  It is a low, crawling, creeping vine that is native to South America and the West Indies.  With its thick, healthy evergreen foliage, its crinkly leaves will quickly form a dense ground cover, attaching to pretty much anything in its path.  It prefers moist soil and grows well in partial sun to full shade, reaching a height of 4-6”.

USDA Hardiness Zones 11-15

Container Gardens/Terrariums/Houseplant:

Due to its ease of care, this plant is a good candidate for container gardening, but will need to be pruned regularly.  As a houseplant, it’s commonly seen trailing off of a hanging basket.
