Regal Shield Elephant Ear
A tropical plant that grows up to six feet tall and wide. The leaves are waxy green. The leaves are toxic to humans and animals. Fertilize once a month during spring and summer, growing season. Alocasias go dormant in winter and the leaves drop. Alsocasias are susceptible to spider mites, check the plant periodically.
- Plant in bright indirect light
- Best in well-drained soil, potting mix or crumbly loam
- Allow the top two to three inches of soil to dry between watering. During the winter they go through a dormancy period and requires less frequent waterings.
